No-line coloured handmade card created using the Morning Asters Layering Stencils from Altenew
Handmade card created using the Morning Asters Layering Stencils from Altenew for a No-Line Colouring Technique

Hello Crafters! How are you? I’ve got an awesome technique to share with you today if you love the no-line colouring look but find it a bit intimidating! I put myself firmly in that camp! I LOVE to colour, but I’m absolutely NOT an artist! But with this technique, you can put down a base layer with layering stencils to get you started, then just add some extra colour with whatever mediums you have to hand to get a more detailed coloured look. The stencils not only add the initial layers of colour, but also act as a guide as to where the light and shade go, so it takes a lot of the technical side away.

This is another card that I’m submitting for my Altenew Educator course. This one is for the All About Layering 7 -- Stencil Edition class which is FREE and has LOADS of ideas for using your layering stencils. You can find it HERE if you want to check it out. It is also taught by several different instructors, so you get to see different takes on how to use them.

  1. Looks fabulous! I do the same with most of my stenciled images. Adding marker details does make the images pop! Thank you for sharing your wonderful work!
