Hello Crafters, How are you? I’ve been wanting to use this piece of patterned paper from the In Good Taste pack for ages, but I hadn’t found the right card, then I was creating this vase the other day and suddenly I had the perfect pairing – it reminds me of flowers in a farm kitchen with that gorgeous tiled background! The vase of flowers is from the Basket of Blooms stamp set (which has a coordinating punch for cutting out the flowers). I decided to make it into a tall card, as I havent made one for ages, and they’re everywhere at the moment! The tall vase really lends itself to this shape of card.

Tutorial – Basket of Blooms Tall Handmade Birthday Card
To create your card blank, score and fold an A5 (5 5/8″ x 8 1/4″) piece of Night of Navy cardstock down the middle lengthways. Then, cut a piece of the In Good Taste paper 1/4″ smaller than your card front and glue it on.
Stamp the vase from the Basket of Blooms stamp set onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock with Night of Navy ink, then stamp it again onto a piece of masking sheet (or a post-it-note) and cut the vase on the masking sheet out. Place the mask over the stamped image, then stamp the large leaf in Shaded Spruce ink so that it looks like it’s sitting in the vase.
Stamp the large leaf again onto a piece of masking sheet, cut it out, and place the mask over the stamped image, then stamp the other long leafy stems so that they also look as though they’re sitting in the vase. Colour the whole image with Stampin’ Blends, then trim the cardstock so that it’s 3 7/8″ wide, and so that there is just a small amount of white cardstock above and below the image.
Glue the image onto your card front, then add two 1/4″ strips of Night of Navy cardstock, one above and one below the image.
Stamp 3 flowers onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock in Night of Navy ink, then colour them with Stampin’ Blends. Cut them out using the coordinating punch, then add them to your card with Stampin’ Dimensionals (foam pads). Add the gold Wonderful Gems to the centres of the flowers, and add another 3 at the side of the card.
Finally, stamp the Happy Birthday Sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock in Night of Navy cardstock and cut around it to create a sentiment strip. Add it to your card across your vase.
