Beautiful You Decoupage Card

Today I wanted to share with you a card made with one of my favourite stamp sets from the new Spring/Summer catalogue – Beautiful You! So many people have fallen in love with this stamp set and I’m no different – I think the images are beautiful, and they’re great for making quick and easy cards. Although I’ve not used them today, there are even swooshes (I think that’s a word, right?!) that you can stamp over the images to give a scribbled watercolour effect.

Today’s card uses the dancing lady from the set – I stamped her 3 times, once on Very Vanilla cardstock, and twice on the lacey patterned paper from the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper pack. I used a square die from the Stitched Shape Framelits (which are now back in stock, so grab them if you’ve been wanting these!) to cut around the girl on the Very Vanilla. To create the decoupage, I used scissors to cut around the girls hat and dress on one of the patterned paper images, and then the hat and the skirt on the other image. I then glued the dress and a hat onto the Very Vanilla girl, and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to stick the other hat and the skirt over the top to give a bit of height. I love how this looks!

To make the card base, I cut a piece of 12″x12″ Sweet Sugarplum cardstock in half, and used this to make a 6″x6″ card blank with my scoring tool, then layered a piece of the lacey Falling in Love DSP cut to 5 3/4″x5 3/4″ on top. I cut a piece of Sweet Sugarplum paper 1/4″ bigger than the girl topper each way, glued on the topper, and then used Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach it to the card. To finish the card off , I stuck a length of Sweet Sugarplum ribbon across the bottom of the card, with the “Happy Birthday Gorgeous” sentiment stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock stuck with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the centre.
