Today I’m sharing an Easel Card with you using the Beautiful You Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up. I like Easel Cards because it makes your card look a little bit different but they’re very easy to make.
To Make the Easel Card take a 5″ x 10″ piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock and, using your scoreboard, score it at 5″ and 7.5″ along the long side. Fold the card along both score lines in the same direction. The half of the card that has the fold in the middle is your card front.
Unfortunately, in the time since I made this card the Subtles Designer Series Paperstack that I used to make it has sold out!! However, you could easily substitute another colourway – as I write this the 2015-2017 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack is still in stock and the Watermelon Wonder colour from this pack is very similar, so I will link to this product in the shopping list at the bottom.
So, cut a 5″ x 5″ piece of the stripey Watermelon Wonder Designer Series Paper, a 3½” x 5″ piece of Basic Black Cardstock, and a 3¼” x 5″ piece of Whisper White cardstock and layer them up. Stamp the Lady with the hat from the Beautiful You stamp set in Basic Black ink once on the 3¼” x 5″ piece of Whisper White cardstock, and once on the floral side of your Watermelon Wonder piece of Designer Series Paper. Cut the dress out from the Designer Series paper and stick it onto your Whisper White image. Colour in the lady’s hat with a Watermelon Wonder Stampin’ Write marker, and then stamp the “Celebrate…” sentiment at the bottom. Adhere this to your card, but ONLY ON THE BOTTOM HALF of the card front. This means that when you stand your easel up, the top half of the card will stand up away from the card.
For the stopper, take a 1″ x 5″ piece of the floral DSP, and layer on a ½” x 5″ piece of Basic Black cardstock. Take a sliver of Whisper White cardstock just a little thinner than your Basic Black piece, about 3/8″ x 5″, and stamp the “In Style!” sentiment towards the right hand side. Layer this on top of the other pieces of your stopper, then attach the stopper to the inside of your card using stampin Dimensionals to give a bit of height to allow it to stop the front of your card and create the easel.
