Hello Crafters! How are you today? I love playing around with the Plaid Builder dies that I used to create the background for this card and I was really happy when I came up with this combo; I think the teal/navy/gold together has a gorgeous rich autumnal feel that is lovely for this time of year. And I paired it with two of my favourite things from the annual catalogue – the Happy Birthday greeting from the Best Year stamp set, and the Forever Gold elements from the laser-cut paper pack. If you read my blog posts often then you’ll have seen a lot of these two things, but hopefully will also now know what fantastic value for money they are!
Best Year Bundle (English) [154104] £54.00
Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper [152493] £14.00
To create your card blank, score and fold an A5 (5 7/8″ x 4 1/8″) piece of Night of Navy cardstock in half.
Next, cut the more dense die from the Plaid Builder dies (in the Best Year Bundle) out of Pretty Peacock cardstock, and use the other die to cut a piece of Gold Foil Sheet. Glue the Gold Foil piece in place under the Pretty Peacock piece, then cut them down so that they are 1/4″ smaller than your card front (5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″). Glue this onto your card.
Pop one of the rectangular toppers out of your Forever Gold pack and cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock so that it fits inside the rectangle with a border around the outside (approximately 2 1/4″ x 1 1/2″). Heat Emboss the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Best Year stamp set onto the Navy rectangle in Gold embossing powder. [Not sure how to heat emboss? check out my video tutorial HERE]. Glue your rectangle to the Gold Laser-Cut piece and add it to your card with Stampin’ Dimensionals (foam pads).
