Good Morning Crafters!! How are you doing this morning? I hope you have some lovely plans for the weekend! I can’t believe we’re coming to the end of Sale-a-Bration!! I’m actually a little sad – I’m planning to put in my final Sale-a-Bration order tomorrow – I’m going to order a load of different colours of cardstock – I’ll use it all in the coming months but I want to place my order now so that I can choose some lovely free gifts to go with it!! If you want to do the same, Sale-a-Bration ends tomorrow – 31st March, so make sure you get in quickly!!
Today’s card makes the most of one of my favourite Sale-a-Bration gifts – that gorgeous Botanical Butterfly DSP!! You could actually buy the stamp set, the Momento ink pad, the Black Satin Ribbon, and the Label Punch used to make this card and then get this DSP for free!! You could make sooo many cards with all of those goodies!!
To create this card, start by creating your card blank – Take a 7″ x 10″ piece of Thick Whisper White card stock and score and fold it in half.
Cut a piece of the stripey paper from the Botanical Butterfly DSP down to 1″ x 7″, and a piece of the botanical looking butterfly paper measuring 4″ x 7″. Stick these to the front of your card, then glue a sliver of black cardstock along the join between the two pieces of paper.
To create the sentiment, simply stamp the “Thanks” sentiment from the Accented Blooms stamp set onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock with your Memento ink. I like to use the Stamparatus to do this as there is a large flat area on the stamp, so it means that if you don’t get a perfect impression the first time, you can stamp it again in exactly the same place!! When you’re happy with the impression then use your Tailored Tag Punch to punch your shape out.
Stick some Black Satin ribbon across the bottom of your card, and add the sentiment, popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. Cut a Butterfly from a spare piece of DSP and add it onto your card, sticking the body down and curving the wings up so that one of them comes over your sentiment.
I also cut an extra butterfly out and stuck this inside the card to make it look lovely inside too!!
I hope you enjoyed this project. Click the links below to shop the products used to make it.
