Hello Crafters, how are you today? In today’s video we’re using Card Sketches to give us the design or layout for our cards. These are a great tool, whatever level of crafting you’re at; if you’re a beginner, they’re a great way to design your own cards -- they’re a stepping stone between just copying other people’s layouts and designing your own cards from scratch, as they give you a layout to follow, but you still need to choose what colours and design scheme to use. If you’re a more advanced crafter, they’re great for a quick card where you don’t want to do as much design work, for getting your mojo back if you’ve lost it, and for feeling a part of a community, as many of the websites that have card sketches on them also have challenges that you can enter where you can display your card design, and see others that other people have created using the same sketch. It’s amazing the variety that you get!
All of the sketches that we used for today’s cards are from Freshly Made Sketches, one of my favourite sketch websites, (linked HERE), but I also have a Pinterest board full of sketches HERE that you could browse if you’re looking for ideas.
For today’s cards I used the products from the Fine Art Gallery suite from Stampin’ Up! This is a gorgeous suite of products made up of hand-painted flowers and fabulous paint textures.
