Today I’ve been having fun making cards with the Christmas Stockings Dies. I bought these as part of the Hang your Stocking Bundle that comes with the coordinating stamp set and I LOVE IT, especially combined with the Warmth and Cheer Designer Series Paper! I have used the paper for sooo many different projects as it’s really versatile, so keep an eye on my blog over the next few weeks to see what else I’ve made!!!
Instructions
The card base for this project is a 12″x6″ piece of Sahara Sand Cardstock (cut from the 12×12 neutrals cardstock pack) folded in half. I couldn’t resist making the cute little Christmas stockings from red and white glimmer paper, it just screams Christmas! I used the die with the snowflake on to cut a stocking from both red and white glimmer paper, then cut three of the plain stockings; two from red glimmer paper and the third from plain white paper. I then used the snowflake stocking as a template to cut down all three of the plain stockings to the same size, and then cut heels, toes and the zigzag stocking top for each of the red glimmer stockings, and stuck them on with our Multi Purpose Liquid Glue. To complete the snowflake stocking, I covered the plain white stocking with glue, stuck the red snowflake stocking on it, and then stuck the snowflakes and the lines that were cut out of the white glimmer stocking into the gaps. I then finished all three stockings with stocking hooks die cut from real red card.
For the Noel topper, I cut the Noel sentiment from Real Red cardstock and carefully cut the line off the bottom of the letters. I used the Layering Ovals framelit dies to cut the base of the topper, then decorated it with my “Noel” and with holly and berries cut from red glimmer paper and Garden Green card. To assemble the card, I used a layer of Real Red card, and a layer of Warmth and Cheer Designer Series Paper, added real red ribbon and Garden Green Bakers Twine arranged as per the picture, and then completed it by sticking on my Noel topper and pretty little stockings with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I hope you enjoyed this project. If you fancy having a go yourself, I have added links below to the products I used to make it
