Good Morning crafters!! This morning I’m sharing a card I made for my Dad’s Birthday using the Classic Garage DSP. There’s a whole fabulous Classic Garage suite, which is fantastic for anyone who loves their cars or tinkering in the garage, but I decided to focus on the DSP for this card.

Classic Garage 6″ X 6″ (15.2 X 15.2 Cm) Designer Series Paper 148482 Price: £10.25

Tutorial – Classic Garage Handmade Card

To create your card blank, score and fold an A5 piece of Basic Black Cardstock in half. I tend to make two card blanks at a time – I cut an A4 piece of cardstock in half, then score and fold each of the pieces, then save the second one for my next card.

Next, cut a piece of the yellow DSP from your Classic Garage pack to 1/4″ smaller each way than your card front. Glue a piece of black satin ribbon to the back of your DSP towards the bottom, then wrap it around the front of the DSP and attach the other end to the back of the other side of your DSP. Glue the piece onto your card front which will leave you with a lovely black border around the outside.

Cut three cars out of the black and white car DSP. I like to use our Paper Snips to do this because they have sharp pointy blades which make fussy cutting much more simple, but you could use any sharp craft scissors. Add these to your card as shown in the picture.

Next, stamp your sentiment in Basic Black ink on some of the yellow DSP. I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Detailed with Love stamp set but you could use whatever you have to hand. Cut around the sentiment using the stitched rectangle die that is closest to the size of your sentiment, then back this with a piece of Basic Black cardstock that measures 1/4″ bigger than this each way. Pop your sentiment up on some Stampin’ Dimensionals in the center of your black ribbon.

I like to add something to the center of my cards, so for this one, I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 1/4″ smaller than my card front, then glued it inside. Then I cut some cogs from the piece of DSP with cogs on and stuck these near the bottom left hand corner. (There’s a pic of the inside of the card if you swipe across the main image at the top of this post).
