Notecards

Eastern Palace Stained Glass Window Cards

How Beautiful are these little notecards? They’re perfect for brightening someone’s day! How nice is it to receive a handwritten note from someone? I have to say I don’t send enough “just because” notecards and so I’m trying to make a point of doing it more – I think it makes you feel very special to receive one! These ones use the Eastern Palace Suite that I’ve been showcasing all week, but I think that this is a very different look.

To make the notecards, I used Basic Black, Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo and Peekaboo Peach cardstock, and Gold Foil sheets, alongside the Premier Eastern Palace Bundle. Cut 4″ squares of each colour of cardstock and use your dies to cut each of the 3 layers of the circular dies out of the middle of each piece. I have put red squares around the three dies you need to use below. You can cut all of these in one pass through your bigshot if you line them up on your magnetic platform, or use some washi tape to keep them in place. TOP TIP – if you place a tumble dryer sheet underneath your paper before you run it through the machine, it will keep all of the pieces that come out of your die cuts in place. This will be very helpful later!

Cut a piece of 4¼” square cardstock in the accent colour of your choice – I used Melon Mambo on the left hand card and Peekaboo Peach on the right hand one. Cover the centre of your accent cardstock with Fast fuse, and put the black die cut 4″ square piece of card in the centre. This will leave sticky bits showing through the gaps in the die cuts. Use the pieces that are left over from the die cuts in the other colour cardstocks to fill in these holes. This takes a short while but I enjoy doing this in the evening in front of the TV. You can make several cards from the die cuts that you’ve done, and then you have the main part of the die cuts ready to use on another card!

Stamp a curved sentiment (there are two in the set to choose from) around the bottom right hand part of your card with Versamark ink, and emboss with gold embossing powder. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the card front to a 5″ square Basic Black Card.

I love the effect of these cards. I hope you enjoyed it too. Use the shopping list below if you want to purchase any of the products used to make this.
