Good Morning Crafters!! It’s been pretty miserable weather here for the last couple of days but I’ve been cheering myself up with a little crafting!! How cute is this Fable Friends stamp set? I used it to make a New Baby card with the gorgeous Twinkle Twinkle DSP, but you could easily swap the DSP for another one in your stash, and use one of the other sentiments on the stamp set to create a beautiful Easter or spring card.
Don’t forget that Sale-a-Bration is coming to a close, so if you have anything on your wish list, make sure that you purchase it before the end of March to choose a free gift for EVERY £45 you spend (or £90 for level 2 gifts). You will be prompted to choose your free gifts at checkout.
To create your card base, score and fold an A5 piece of Grey Granite cardstock in half. Then cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 1/4″ smaller than your card front and stick this inside your card to give somewhere to write your message and a more professional finish to your card.
Next, cut a piece of the Pool Party Twinkle Twinkle DSP the same size as the white insert and glue this onto the front of your card.
Use Grey Granite ink to stamp the bunny and your chosen sentiment from the Fable Friends stamp set onto Whisper White cardstock, then colour your bunny in. I used the Light and Dark shades of the Crumb Cake and Pool Party Stampin’ Blends, and the ivory colourway to colour mine. Then cut the bunny out – I would advise using a pair of very sharp scissors such as the Stampin’ Up paper snips to get a good finish – and run a Grey Granite marker around the edge of your bunny to get rid of any white bits showing and get a lovely finish.
If you’re serious about cardmaking, I would really recommend getting some layering shapes dies if you don’t already own some – they’re really useful for all sorts of projects. However, I used both the Layering Ovals and the Stitched Shapes Framelit dies for this card, and you could definitely just use the Layering ovals if you don’t have both. I used the largest of the stitched ovals to cut an oval out of Whisper White cardstock, and the smallest layering oval die to cut out my sentiment, and then used the scalloped ovals that fit around each of them to cut ovals from Grey Granite cardstock. Then layer the Whisper White ovals on top of the Grey Granite ones.
Cut a thin strip of Grey Granite cardstock to fit across your card, then layer your sentiment on top of this at the bottom of your card. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to stick your rabbit to your large oval, then stick this onto your card front.
To complete your card, stamp a rabbit in Grey Granite ink onto both the inside of your card and the envelope.
I hope you enjoyed this project. Click the links below to shop the products used to make it.
