Good Morning Magnolia Handmade Birthday Card -

Hello Crafters! How are you today? I’ve brought out the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set again for today’s card. I’ve not used it too much recently as I’ve been focusing on some of my newer sets, but I had to return to it as the imagery is so beautiful! I just heat embossed the image in gold to give a softer outline, then coloured it with my Stampin’ Blends.

Tutorial – Good Morning Magnolia Handmade Birthday Card

To create your card base, score and fold an A5 (5 7/8″ x 8 1/4″) piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock in half. Then, cut a piece of the grey-based Peony Garden paper to fit on the card front (5 7/8″ x 4 1/8″), and another piece of the pink-based Peony paper measuring 5 7/8″ x 3 1/4″. Glue the grey piece to your card front then add your pink piece on top.

Heat emboss the large magnolia from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set with Gold embossing powder on Whisper White cardstock, then colour the image with your Stampin’ Blends (the colours I used are listed in the products list below). Cut out the image with the coordinating dies.

Heat emboss a sentiment (I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Best Year stamp set because I wanted to create a birthday card, but there are also some lovely sentiments in the Good Morning Magnolia set) in gold embossing powder on Petal Pink cardstock. Cut a strip around it that’s 3 1/4″ wide, then cut a strip of Gold Foil sheet that pokes out over the top and bottom of your sentiment. [Note: I used a piece of gold foil sheet that I’d previously used to cut out a stitched rectangle, so it has some stitching on the bottom which I thought was a nice touch but not necessary if you don’t have any stitched edge dies].

Glue your sentiment to the Gold Foil Strip, then add both the magnolia and the sentiment to your card with Stampin’ Dimensionals (foam pads).
