Hello Crafters! How are you? Today I’m sharing my project for my level 1 assessment for my ACEP (Altenew Certified Educator Program) course. I was tasked to create 2 coordinating sets of cards, one more masculine gift set, and one more feminine, using different techniques from the modules found in the level 1 classes. They also had to be packaged and follow a theme.

I used a multitude of different techniques within the sets of cards, but focussed mostly on different inking techniques (found in the Irresistable Inking Techniques and Easy Ink Blending Techniques classes), and on stenciling techniques which can be found in the Celebration: Stencil Techniques class.

The Inky Bouquet Stamp Set was perfect to create the cards for the feminine set, using colours that I had in both alcohol markers and ink pads so that I could use both to colour with and still have a cohesive looking set. For the coordinating packaging I used my envelope punch board to create an envelope style gift box, and then used the Inky Bouquet stamp set again to decorate it!

I also upcycled some of the ribbon from my cousin’s wedding to create a decorative bow for the back -- check it out in the video below!!

For the Masculine Cards I chose to use the Colourblock Triangle Stencil in different ways. I used the same 4 shades of blue across all of the cards to make them look like a cohesive set. I actually think that this one especially would make a fantastic gift, as I’m always hearing people say that men are the hardest people to find cards for, so here are 4 ready to give!!

The shape of the box that I used to package the masculine set is the same as I used for the feminine set. This time I decorated it with elements from the stencil and some more upcycled ribbon, used in stripes this time to give a more masculine look. Check out the video to find out how I created this even though I didn’t have a sheet of cardstock big enough!!

For most of the elements of the masculine gift set I created colourblocked shapes by using a masking technique -- see the pictures below for a quick step-by step, or the video for more detail.
