Customer Thank You Gifts – Hug in a Mug Hot Chocolate Pouches

Good Morning Crafters! I hope you’re having a good week? Today I’m sharing with you the Thank You gift that I sent to my customers this month (it contains a sachet of Hot Chocolate inside). I really appreciate it when people choose to place an order with me, so I always send them a little bit of happy post at the end of the month that they placed their order, in addition to the gift I send of Stampin’ Up product if they use my Host Code. I cased this month’s gift from a swap I received from Karen Pearmain when I went to Onstage (a Stampin’ Up event that’s held for demonstrators twice a year). We all make several of the same project, then swap them with other people so that you take away lots of different project ideas. It’s very inspirational. Karen’s project was one of my favourites, which is why I decided to make it as my customer Thank You gift. I just changed the sentiment panel on the front using the Hug in a Mug stamp set.

I’m definitely going to have to stock up on the Christmas Around the World DSP as I’ve used it soo much this Christmas – particularly the tartan pattern that I’ve used on this project!

Tutorial – Customer Thank You Gifts – Hug in a Mug Hot Chocolate Pouches

To create the base of your pouch, cut an A4 sheet of Cherry Cobbler cardstock in half length-ways, then use your Score Board to score it at 5 1/4″ and 10 1/2″. Fold on each of the score lines so that the bottom comes up and your smaller top flap folds down.

Use the mini candy cane stamp from your Hug in a Mug stamp set to stamp across the top flap with Cherry Cobbler ink.

Cut a piece of the tartan paper from the Christmas Around the World DSP measuring 3 7/8″ Square. Stick this onto the front of your project on the section below the flap.

To create the topper, stamp the sentiment from your Hug in a Mug stamp set in Basic Black Memento Ink onto Shimmery White cardstock. It needs to be memento ink if you use Stampin’ Blends to colour as they will smudge archival ink. Then stamp the mug next to it with cream on top, and decorate it with the zigzag pattern and the star.

Use your dark and light Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends to colour the mug, and then the Ivory to add some depth to your cream. Outline your mug with the Light Smokey Slate Stampin’ Blend to give it a bit of extra dimension.

Use one of the ovals from your Layering Ovals Framelit dies to cut out the sentiment and the mug, then use the scalloped oval Framelit one size bigger to cut out a Cherry Cobbler oval. Layer your white oval onto the Cherry Cobbler one, then use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add them to the front of your project.

Place your hot chocolate sachet inside your packaging, ensuring you line up the top of the sachet with the fold for your flap. Use the 1/8″ circle punch to punch through all of the layers of card and the hot chocolate sachet, ensuring you do it close enough to the top so you don’t pierce the part of the sachet that holds the hot chocolate. Punch another hole about 1/2″ away and thread some Cherry Cobbler stitched ribbon through the holes. Tie in a bow around a mini candy cane to complete your project.

I hope you enjoyed this project. Click the links below to shop the products used to make it.
