I’m so sad that Sale-a-Bration is almost over! I think my favourite Sale-a-Bration item has been the Inside the Lines Designer Series paper – I love how flexible it is! Because you colour it yourself, you can make it fit any colour scheme, and I LOVE to colour – there’s nothing better than settling down for an evening in front of the TV and doing a good bit of colouring!

For today’s card, I have just coloured a portion of the paper – I cut a 5 ½” x 5 ½” piece of the dragonfly Inside the Lines paper, then used the second largest of the Layering Squares framelit dies to cut a square out of the centre of this. This is the square that I coloured, using the Watercolour pencils, blended with our Blender Pens, to colour the flowers, and then the black Stampin’ Write marker to colour the background black and give that lovely contrast.

To create the card blank, I cut a 5 ¾” x 11 ½” piece of Basic Black cardstock and scored it down the middle. Then I layered my 5 ½” x 5 ½” piece of dragonfly paper on the card front.

Using the largest of the layering squares, I cut a square of Basic Black cardstock, and then layered the coloured piece of Designer Series Paper on top. I then popped this up on some Stampin’ Dimensionals over the hole in the DSP on the card front, ensuring I lined up the lines of the image.

To create the sentiment, I cut a strip of Basic Black card to 5 ¾” wide, and heat embossed “Happy Mother’s Day” from the Crazy About You stamp set with white embossing powder. If you don’t have this stamp set, I’d recommend it – it’s great for creating the exact sentiment that you need for an occasion! I then coloured over the embossing with the Melon Mambo Watercolour Pencil to get a subtle pink colour on the embossing.

To finish the card, I adhered the sentiment strip across the bottom.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.
