Shimmer Detailed Laser Cut Handmade Thank You Card created by UK Stampin' Up Demonstrator Sarah Phelan from Sarah's Stampin' Retreat using the Shimmer Detailed Laser Cut Speciality Paper from Stampin' Up
Good morning Crafters!! What have you been up to this week? Are you settling into your “new normal”? We seem to have settled into a new routine in our house – play time with little Elliott (who will be 2 in August) in the morning, then more play and out for a walk in the afternoon. It’s quite different for us as we’re usually the type of family that would be out of the house most of the time, but I think that the biggest thing that I’ve learnt from this period of being at home more is that for us, it can be nice and make us more creative in what we do with Elliott if we spend more time at home.
The card that I’m sharing today uses the Shimmer Detailed Laser Cut Speciality paper from Stampin’ Up. The flower is actually a piece that I just snipped out and coloured from one of the large floral sheets – it makes it look totally different!
Product ListRead on for the tutorial and full shopping list!
To start your card, first create a 5″ x 7″ card blank by scoring and folding a 10″ x 7″ piece of thick Whisper White cardstock in half.
Next, cut a 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ piece of Gray Granite cardstock and glue this to the front of your card.
Cut a strip of Whisper White cardstock 6 3/4″ wide, and tall enough to fit your sentiment on (I used the “Thanks” sentiment from Good Morning Magnolia), and then stamp your sentiment to the left hand side in Mossy Meadow ink before gluing the strip across your card.
Select the piece of the laser-cut paper that you want to use for the focal point of your card and colour it using Stampin’ Blends (I used Mossy Meadow duo, So Saffron light and Petal Pink light). Snip the image out of the full piece of paper, then draw around the flower onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Cut the flower out and glue it to the back of your laser-cut flower.
Use Stampin’ Dimensionals (foam pads) to attach your flower to your card and finish with some adhesive pearls.
