Good Morning Crafters! I hope you’re having a good week. I’m sharing a pretty little tag with you today. It has a Christmassy feel as I’m trying to be organised, but you could easily use a different DSP pack and change the colours to create a beautiful tag for another occasion! I’m a bit of a sucker for a beautiful font, so I was drawn towards the Add a Little Glitz stamp set. For me, although a lot of the images are Christmassy, I will use the “A Gift for You” sentiment and the present that’s on the left hand side of the image below all year round.
I’ve used two different paper packs to make this with because I already owned them, but you could easily just buy the Merry Little Christmas DSP pack and use the checks that I’ve used for the tag base, and then one of the black based papers from the same pack, such as the stars, for the bow if you don’t have the Merry Music DSP.
Tutorial – Merry Little Christmas Tag
To create your tag, cut a 2″ x 4″ piece of the green check patterned paper from the Merry Little Christmas DSP Pack and use glue to stick this onto a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock the same size. Trim one end with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to create your tag shape.
To create your bow, use the Bow Punch to cut all of the pieces out of the black music paper twice. Cut the small straight piece out of Gold Foil sheet too. To assemble the bow, use the side of a pencil or something similar to curve each of the bow pieces to give them a nice shape. Glue the ends of each of the bow pieces together, then use these ends to glue the two bow pieces together. Next, glue the two bow tails to the back of your bow. Curve the Gold Foil Sheet strip and glue it around the centre of your bow.
Stamp the “A Gift for You” sentiment from the Add a Little Glitz stamp set onto Whisper White cardstock with Basic Black ink. Cut around the Sentiment using a Stitched Circle Framelit Die, then use the circle one size bigger from the Layering Circles Framelit Dies out of Gold Foil Sheet. Layer the sentiment on top of the gold circle.
Add your sentiment to the tag and add the bow to the top of the sentiment. Complete your tag by attaching a piece of Basic Black Bakers Twine through the top.
