Peaceful Poppies Framed Birthday Card

Good Morning Crafters!! I have another card using the beautiful Peaceful Poppies DSP (patterned paper) for you this morning – I just can’t get enough of it!! And I hope all of you Blackberry Bliss lovers are reading this morning as it’s another card showcasing that gorgeous purple “Blackberry Bliss” cardstock!

Today I’ve combined the Peaceful Poppies with the heirloom frames dies and embossing folders. Have you seen them? You get the rectangle shown on this card and an oval too in the pack, and you get both a die and an embossing folder for each shape. So, you die cut the shape, then send it back through your die-cutting machine in the embossing folder (top tip: spritz with water before you do this to get the best embossed impression) and you get the gorgeous ornate frames!! They make such an eye-catching centrepiece to a card!!

Tutorial – Peaceful Poppies Framed Birthday Card

Create a card blank by scoring and folding an A5 piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock in half.

Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 1/4″ smaller than your card front, then dry emboss it using the Subtle Embossing folder (this just adds some texture to your background). Then, glue this onto your card front.

Cut and emboss a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock using the rectangle die and embossing folder from the Heirlooms set. Then, cut a piece of Peaceful Poppies DSP a little smaller than the outside of the frame. Glue the piece of DSP to your card front, then use Stampin’ Dimensionals (foam pads) to attach your frame over the top.

To complete your card, stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Label Me Bold stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and use some of the waste from the outside of your Stampin’ Dimensionals to stick this onto your card.
