Good Morning Crafters!! How are you?

Today I’m sharing a simple personalised birthday card. You could make this with any patterned paper that you have, but I decided to use the gorgeous large florals from the Stampin’ Up Peaceful Poppies DSP and I’ve combined this with the Hand-Lettered Prose dies. You could write someone’s name, or even put a special birthday number instead of the “Mum”

This is one of my favourite things about creating handmade cards, you can really personalise it for the recipient – it’s the colours my mum will love, and she will know I’ve made it especially for her!

Read on for the tutorial for this card and the full shopping list!

Tutorial – Personalised Birthday Card with Peaceful Poppies

To begin your card, create an A6 card blank by scoring and folding an A5 piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock in half.

Next, cut a piece of the Peaceful poppies patterned paper down so that it’s 1/4″ smaller than your card front.

Heat emboss the Happy Birthday greeting from the Peaceful Moments stamp set onto a scrap of Blackberry Bliss cardstock using White embossing powder, then cut around it using one of the Stitched Nested Labels dies.

Die-Cut “Mum” (or the name of your recipient) out of scraps of Blackberry Bliss cardstock using the Hand-Lettered Prose dies 3 times, then layer them up to create thick die-cut letters that stand out from the page.

Wrap a 2 inch wide piece of vellum around your patterned paper and attach it at the back so that your glue doesn’t show through at the front of your card. Glue your letters onto the vellum, and add the “Happy Birthday” sentiment so that it just hangs off the side. Trim down the shape in line with the edge of the paper, then add the patterned paper to the front of your card.

Finish your card with a few gold pearls.
