Hi there crafters! I’m sooo excited this weekend! The new Stampin’ Up Holiday catalogue has launched and it’s BEAUTIFUL! I thought that today I would share a project using one of the amazing bundles from the new catalogue; Ready for Christmas. I love this set because it has 20 stamps AND 20 dies so there are an inordinate amount of scenes that you could build with this. However, today I have singled out the tree – it’s actually quite unusual because it has a stamp, and this could be used on it’s own, but it becomes really special when it’s used with the dies; it actually provides a layout and you can stick some of the die cut pine branches over the top to create a beautiful textured tree.
Anyway, before we crack on with the tutorial, I’ve put links below to the lovely new catalogue and to the Ready for Christmas Bundle so that you can take a look for yourself.
To create the card blank, score and fold a 10″ x 7″ piece of Real Red cardstock in half.
Cut a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock down to 6 3/4″ x 4 3/4″, then use Versamark ink to stamp the Sheet Music stamp onto it. You will need to stamp an extra bar of music at the end by moving the stamp down in order to fill the piece of card. Pour over gold embossing powder and heat emboss using your heat tool. Add this piece of cardstock to your card front.
Next, cut another piece of Real Red cardstock down to measure 5 1/4″ x 3 1/4″, and another piece of Crumb Cake cardstock to measure 3″ x 5″.
Stamp the tree from your Ready for Christmas stamp set into the middle of the Crumb Cake cardstock using Garden Green ink. Cut a 1/2″ wide piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock to create the trunk and stick this to the bottom of your tree. There are two larger pine branches in your Ready for Christmas Die set. Cut each of them 3 times from Garden Green cardstock and stick these onto your card using your stamped tree as a guide for their placement. Add your pine branches to the bottom of the tree first and work your way up.
Your stamp set includes a set of 3 baubles. Stamp these in Versamark Ink onto Real Red cardstock twice, and heat emboss using Gold Embossing Powder. Cut them out using the coordinating die. I love that the stamp and die for the baubles stamps and cuts 3 at a time – it makes it so much easier!!
To complete your tree, use your star die to cut a star from Gold Foil Sheet, then use Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the star and the baubles to your tree. Stick your tree to your piece of Real Red Cardstock, and then use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add this topper to your card.
To complete your card, use gold embossing powder to heat emboss the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Hang Your Stocking stamp set onto Real Red cardstock. Use an Oval Layering Die to cut this out, and Stampin’ Dimensionals to add this to your card.
I hope you enjoyed this project. Click the links below to shop the products used to make it.
