I can’t believe it’s time for another Sketch Sunday already! The week has gone so quickly!! Today’s Sketch Sunday uses the Lift Me Up Bundle, and 2 Sale-a-Bration items – the glimmer paper and the Carried Away Designer Series Paper.
This week’s sketch comes from cardztv.
Today’s card is larger than the standard size – it’s 5″ x 7″, made by scoring a 10″ x 7″ piece of Night of Navy Cardstock down the middle. The Whisper White piece layered on top of this is 4¾” x 6¾”. I used the clouds from the Lift Me Up stamp set to create a cloudy background on the right hand side of the white paper with Smokey Slate ink, and attached a 2″ strip of the grey polka dot paper from the Carried Away Designer Series Paper down the left hand side. I then stuck a ½” strip of Pink Glimmer Paper along the seam.
To create the topper, I cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock measuring 3 ½” x 5 ¼” and then layered a piece of Whisper White measuring 5″ x 3 ¼” on top. I cut a piece of the mountains 3 ¼” x 4″ from the Carried Away paper, and then cut along the top of the mountains to create a layering piece. Next, I cut a detailed hot air balloon from the Pink Glimmer Paper and then used the stripey thinlets to cut alternate “stripes” from Pink Pirouette and Blushing Bride Cardstock, which I then stuck to the back of the Glimmer balloon to create a tone on tone stripe effect.
For the Sentiment, I cut the 3rd smallest Label from the Tags & Labels Framelit Dies in Navy and the 2nd smallest in Whisper White. I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Big on Birthdays stamp set to stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy, Inking and Stamping the “Happy” and the “Birthday” from the sentiment separately to create a stacked sentiment as opposed to the words sitting side by side as they do on the stamp.
Don’t forget that if you want to get your free Glimmer Paper or Carried Away Designer Series paper. you can choose a free Sale-a-Bration gift for every £45.00 you spend before 31st March.
