Good Morning Crafters!! How are you this morning? Today I’m sharing a Handmade Birthday card created using the rather lovely Tropical Chic Bundle. This bundle is gorgeous and oh so versatile!! It will still be available in the new catalogue but is only available to buy as a bundle (where you save 10% on the cost of buying each item separately) until the 3rd June.

I used some bold colours on this card to give a bit of a summery feel, but I didn’t want it to be too full on, so I toned them back a little with a grey border and plenty of white space. Check out the tutorial below if you want to have a go!!

Tutorial – Tropical Chic Handmade Card

To create your card blank, score and fold an A5 piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock in half. Next, create a frame to go round your card by taking two of your stitched rectangle dies and cutting them both out of a piece of Grey Granite Cardstock. I would use some old washi tape to position them on your cardstock to ensure that the border is nice and straight and even all the way round.

Next, stamp two of the leaves from the Tropical Chic stamp set in Shaded Spruce ink, then two flowers in Lovely Lipstick. Use the coordinating dies to cut them out. I usually do most of my stamping and die cutting on normal Whisper White cardstock as it’s a little thinner so you get more sheets for your money, but I do like to make card blanks out of the Thick Whisper White as in my opinion the normal one is too thin. Therefore, if you can only choose one pack, I would go for the thick version as you can use this for everything, but if you can buy both packs I would do so, as using the thinner cardstock for diecutting will save you money in the long run.

Die cut a “happy” word using the thinlet dies from the Well Said bundle in Gray Granite cardstock, then chop the bottom off the two “P”‘s so that it sits nicely above the “birthday” stamp.

Stick your frame to your card using Stampin’ Dimensionals to add some height, then add your flowers and leaves to the corners as shown in the image. Stamp the “Birthday” word from your More than Words stamp set in Gray Granite ink, then stick your “Happy” above it, and finish off with some of the Lovely Lipstick enamel dots from the Happiness Blooms pack.
