Under-water themed children's party invitations with Whale Done

Hello Crafters! How are you today? Did you have a lovely weekend? My order from the new catalogue came on Monday. I was super excited and have had loads of fun playing with it all. The invitation that I’m sharing Today shows off the Whale Done stamp set – it’s a lovely underwater set that captured my imagination straight away. It comes with a coordinating whale builder punch, so I’ll put the bundle in the shopping list in addition to the things that we’ve used to create this project as you save 10% when you buy the stamp and punch in the bundle!

This was also my first time using 4 of the 5 new in-colours – aren’t they pretty?! They go so nicely together! I used Calypso Coral from subtle colour palette instead of the Magenta Madness, but the other colours are all new!

Read on to see how to create your own invites!

Tutorial – Under-water children’s party invitation with Whale Done

For your invitation you can use half an A4 (or letter size) piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Stamp the wording that you want to use from the So Inviting stamp set in the centre of the sheet of cardstock. If you have a stamp positioner, you may find it easier to line up all of the stamps that you want to use on the stamp positioner first so that you know you’re happy with the spacing, then stamp it all at once. If you’re creating multiple invites this will also help you to ensure that they all look the same.

Draw a border around the wording using a black fineliner pen such as the black Stampin’ Write marker. Then, using masking paper or post-it notes, cover up the area inside the border (so that you don’t stamp on this when you’re creating your border). Stamp the sea creatures around the border, then create masks by stamping the creatures onto masking sheet, cutting around them, then placing the masks over the creatures on your invite.

Stamp seaweed around the creatures, then peel off all the masks to reveal your completed invitation.
