Hello Crafters! How are you today? I went back to the Whale of a Time DSP (patterned paper) today and decided I wanted to make a feature of this paper with all the turtles on it. It’s sooo cute! I brightened it up a bit by picking out the Pacific Point from the patterned paper and using this as the card base and the focal point for the sentiment. I think it makes the card look nice and cheerful! Just what I needed with the wind blowing and the rain lashing down outside!
Did you know that on the back of your packs of DSP from Stampin’ Up it tells you what colours have been used to create the papers? This way you can match them back with the coordinating colours of ink and cardstock, ensuring that all of your colours go beautifully together!!
Whale Of A Time 6″ X 6″ (15.2 X 15.2 Cm) Designer Series Paper [152460] £10.75
To create your card blank, score and fold an A5 (8 1/4″ x 5 7/8″) piece of Pacific Point cardstock in half. Then, cut a piece of the Turtle Whale of a Time DSP 1/4″ smaller than your card front and glue it on top.
Heat emboss a happy birthday sentiment (I used the one from the Best Year stamp set) in white embossing powder onto a scrap of Pacific Point Cardstock, then cut it out using one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies (You need this set in your collection! It’s AMAZING!! You can see it in the shopping list below!)
NOTE: There is a video tutorial for heat embossing HERE if you’re not sure how
Cut a strip of Pacific Point cardstock measuring 3 7/8″ x 3/4″, then wrap a piece of the reversible ribbon across the front of it, attaching it with tape or glue at the back.
Glue the strip to the card, then add the sentiment on top using Stampin Dimensionals (foam pads). Finish your card by adding some of the white Elegant Faceted Gems.
