Good Morning Crafters!! I wanted to share another card with you this morning that uses the Wonderful Romance bundle because it will be retiring soon – it won’t be in the new catalogue in June – and I love it sooo much that I just want to encourage anyone who doesn’t have it to buy it!!

I decided to go for white heat embossing and Stampin’ Blends on Crumb Cake cardstock to create what I feel is quite a classic card with a modern twist.

Tutorial – Wonderful Romance Handmade Birthday Card

To create your card blank, score and fold a 5″ x 10″ piece of crumb cake cardstock in half, then cut a layer of Whisper White cardstock 1/4″ smaller than your card front, and a further piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock 1/4″ smaller than this. Glue these two layers onto your card front.

Use an embossing buddy to wipe a piece of crumb cake cardstock and get rid of any oils that might be on there from your fingers, etc. then stamp the main floral image from the Wonderful Romance stamp set in Versamark ink. Pour some white embossing powder over the image, then shake off the excess and melt the embossing powder on the image with a heat gun.

Colour the image with Stampin’ Blends – they look gorgeous on the crumb cake cardstock, then cut it out with the corresponding die and add it to your card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the sentiment, I used the “Happy Birthday” from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set (although you could, of course, substitute it for another one if you don’t have this set). I stamped it in Old Olive ink and then cut it out using the slimmest of the stitched rectangle dies. I stuck it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue on either side of the stems of the flowers, allowing the stems to give it a little height in the middle.

I hope you enjoyed this project. Click the links below to shop the products used to make it.
