Handmade Birthday Card created by UK Stampin Up demonstrator Sarah Phelan from Sarah's Stampin' Retreat using the World of Good DSP from Stampin Up
Hello Crafters! How are you today? I have another super shiny card for you this morning (although I don’t seem to be getting any better at super shiny photography!). I made this for my Brother-In-Law – I love this World of Good DSP for Men’s cards, and I was amazed by how well our gold embossing powder actually works with the brass foiling!
This is a super-simple layout that’s great for using up DSP and making quick cards easily, and the large sentiment being the focal point means that you don’t need to coordinate anything except for the colours! It also looks nice if you use embossing folders to create a background instead of using DSP.
World Of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper [152491] £14.00
Happiest Of Birthdays Cling Stamp Set (English) [152539] £18.00
To create the card, first make a 5 1/2″ square card by taking a 5 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Basic Black Cardstock and scoring and folding it in half.
Cut a piece of Brass Foil sheet 5 1/4″ square, and a piece of the World of Good Designer Series Paper 5″ square and layer them onto the card front.
Heat Emboss the sentiment from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set in Gold embossing powder onto a spare piece of Basic Black cardstock [not sure how to heat emboss? Use our video tutorial HERE to find out how], then trim it down into a square around the sentiment.
Cut a piece of Brass Foil sheet 1/4″ larger than the sentiment piece and glue them together. Add it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals (double sided foam pads) to complete your card.
