Good Morning! I hope you’re having a lovely week! Did you see the Sketch Sunday card that I made using the Botanical Builder Dies and the Affectionately Yours Designer Series Paper? I liked it so much that I made a couple of extra cards using a different layout but the same ingredients! And what’s better than receiving Handmade Birthday Cards? It shows someone cares and they’re so much fun to create!
So onto creating…
Start with a piece of A5 cardstock – I used Crumb Cake for the colourful version, and Night of Navy for the 2 colour card – score it in half and fold to create your card blank. Cut a piece of Affectionately Yours Designer Series Paper to be 1/4″ smaller than your card blank each way. Cut a piece of cardstock the same colour as your card base 3″ x 3 3/8″, then layer on top a piece of cardstock – crumbcake for the 2 colour card and Night of Navy for the colourful one – measuring 2 3/4″ x 3 3/8″.
The sentiment for the cards is one of my favourites and comes from the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set. I stamped this in Night of Navy on the two colour card, and then stamped it in Versamark ink on the colourful card and heat embossed it with copper embossing powder.
To create the Flower for the two colour card, cut two of the delicate leaves and the large flower out of Night of Navy Cardstock using the Botanical Builder dies. Then cut the large centre from Crumbcake cardstock. Layer this onto the flower and complete it with a pearl in the centre. For the colourful card, the flower is created from Watermelon Wonder, the leaves from Mint Macaroon, and the centre from Copper Foil Sheet.
Stick the flowers and leaves onto the card with glue dots to complete your handmade birthday cards.
