Ink Blending Brushes – 5 cards using blending techniques

Hello Crafters! How are you today? You may have seen the video I did a few weeks ago where I first tried out our new Ink Blending Brushes? Well, I’ve used them a few times since, but I love them so much that I decided to do a whole 5 cards video using them. There are soooo many ink blending techniques out there, this just covers a few, from a simple one-colour corner blend, to emboss resist and stencilling.

Blending Brushes [153611] £11.25

So why these particular brushes? Well, they come in a pack of 3, all the same size, which on the face of it may not sound like a benefit, but when I’ve had some similar blending brushes before, they’ve come in a whole set of varying sizes, and I’ve just not used the biggest and smallest ones, so I’ve paid for a whole set and only used a couple. Also, the bristles (bristles? hairs? I’m not really sure what the correct term is?) on these brushes are very fine and soft, but also very dense, meaning you get a really nice coverage. And finally, the bristles are really nicely tapered down the sides, so you don’t get any of those funny edge marks that you can get if you’re not experienced with the older foam pad style ink blending tools that many brands stock.

I’m absolutely not an expert at this. Full disclosure, I had a set of blending brushes before, but didn’t use them very much as I didn’t get on with them very well. Then, when Stampin’ Up! recently brought out theirs, I was inspired to try again. Pretty much all of the times that I’ve used them are in my videos (I don’t have time for a whole lot of crafting that’s not on camera these days), so I’ve only used them a handful of times, but I want to use them loads more, I really do love them. But all this means that you have the ability to get the effects that we have on the video, because even if you’re a complete beginner, I’m only a few hours ahead of you in terms of practice time!
