Owl Builder Punch Handmade Tags

Hi! How are you? I’m still on cloud nine after all of the lovely sunshine we had at the weekend! It was so nice for it to be so warm at the beginning of April! I hope it was lovely with you too! I’m also very excited to share today’s project; some super cute owl gift tags using Stampin’ Up’s Owl Builder Punch. Now the retiring list (a list of items that will not be in the new catalogue and so will no longer be available once stocks are gone) was released on Monday night and I was really sad to see that the Owl Builder Punch was on it! So if you love this punch please get it while there are still stocks – especially as it is now discounted to £12.80! You can view all of the retiring items HERE – please ensure you get anything you want now to avoid disappointment!

I’m happy to say that the Tag Topper Punch which is the other punch used on this card is continuing into the new catalogue 🙂 I’m so happy as I use this all of the time for making quick tags!

Owl Builder Punch 118074 Price: £16.00 £12.80
Scalloped Tag Topper Punch 133324 Price: £21.00

I made two tags – one more girly one, and one that could be seen as more masculine, or could even be used as a great Christmas gift tag (although I know a lot of girls who would love this one too!). The little owls are a great way to use up any scraps of paper you have lying around! They are both made in the same way – punch out all of the elements with the owl builder punch – use Crumb Cake for the owl body and Pumpkin Pie for the feet and the beak (the beak is made from the heart shape but you cover some of it up with the eyes). The eyes are made with Whisper White and Basic Black with a little Soft sky too on the more feminine owl. Then the body is cut from the Soft Sky spotty paper from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Pack (also on the retiring list) and from Real Red cardstock on the other owl.

Layer up all of the owl elements using a fine tip glue pen to glue them all together. Then, create the tag by cutting a 4″ x 2″ strip of cardstock and trimming the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. The cardstock I used was Garden Green for the left hand tag and Blushing Bride for the right one. Finish off with a bit of ribbon – Real red  or Burlap Ribbon tied around with some gold ribbon and gold sequin trim.

I hope you enjoyed this post – shop below to make some of your own, but be quick before stocks run out! I have listed all of the colours of cardstock that I used but this is actually a great way to use up scraps of paper you have lying around – so why not just buy the punches and any basic colours you may not have, and have fun playing with this and using up all of those scraps you have lying around!
