Good Morning Crafters! Thank you for joining me for Seasonal Sunday where I will be sharing a Christmas project every Sunday until Christmas. As Stampin’ Up have pre-released the Carols of Christmas bundle, I’ve used it this week to make some really cute little tags. If you want to view previous projects, you can go to the “2017 Holiday Catalogue” category (find categories in the sidebar on a computer or at the bottom of the page on a mobile device).

I’ve included the below flyer so that you can see some of the projects that Stampin’ Up have created with this suite.

Tutorial – Carols of Christmas Handmade Tags

To create the tag, cut a 2″ x 4″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. I like to use the 12″ x 12″ sheets for this, so I have linked to the Neutrals Best 12″ x 12″ cardstock pack in the shopping list as this contains 8 sheets of 12″ x 12″ crumb Cake cardstock (along with 8 sheets each of Early Expresso and Smokey Slate). The reason I like to use the 12″ x 12″ sheets is that it cuts up really nicely into these dimensions; you can cut it across into 6 2″ strips, and then cut each 2″ strip into 3 4″ pieces, creating 18 tags from just 1 sheet! Very economical! It works out at only 3p per tag base! To make your tag base more decorative, use the Decorative Tag Punch to trim the end and create the hole for the ribbon.

Next, cut one double tree and one single tree from Garden Green cardstock, and a little deer from Gold Foil sheet using the Carols of Christmas dies and your Bigshot. Use your White Stampin’ Chalk Marker to create “snow” on your trees by running it along the top of the branches.

To create the snow on the tag, use the snowy stamp from your Carols of Christmas set to stamp all over your tag with Versamark ink. Sprinkle with White Embossing Powder, then heat with your heat tool to melt the powder. Glue your Trees onto your tag, and then use a mini Stampin’ Dimensional to attach your deer. Use your chalk marker to add some extra “snow” to the bottom of the tag to ground the trees.

Finish your tag with some Gold Metallic Edge ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed this project. Click the links below to shop the products used to make it.
