Good Morning Crafters!! Today I’m sharing a Mother’s Day Card. I’m well aware that many of you are rather more prepared than me and have probably already made any cards you need to make for Mother’s Day, but you could just swap out the sentiment and use it for a rather lovely birthday or “just because” card.
If you like the Tea Together stamp set and dies though you’ll need to hurry; you can buy the Tea Together stamp set from the current Occasions catalogue, but the matching Framelits are part of Sale-a-Bration. They’re a level 2 gift, so you can get them free with a purchase of £90, but only until Sunday 31st March!! It’s a beautiful set that I’ve had lots of fun playing with!!
This time of year is a great time to stock up on your basics – why not buy your white cardstock (and any colours you may run out of in the coming months), adhesives, top up your selection of pens or ink pads with new colours or re-inkers – this is the best time to do it while you can choose a free gift for every £45 you spend!!
To start your card, you need to make a 5″x5″ card blank by scoring a folding a 5″ x 10″ piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock in half.
Take the rose stamp from your Tea Together stamp set and stamp this in each of the corners of your card, and then in the centre of each side to create a border using Basic Grey ink. Then, use the leaf stamp to fill in any gaps.
Draw a border around the edge of your card, allowing some parts of the flowers to overhang, using your Light Smokey Slate Stampin’ Blend. Then colour your border. I used the Dark and Light Petal Pink and Soft Seafoam Stampin’ Blends to colour the roses and the Light Smokey Slate to colour the background of the border.
To create the tea pot, stamp it out on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock in Basic Grey ink. Then, stamp your sentiment onto it, and colour it using the Light and Dark Petal Pink and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends. Colour a small border around the outside with your Light Smokey Slate Stampin’ Blend and cut it out using the coordinating die. Add your teapot to your card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
If your Blends have bled through to the inside of your card, cut a 5″ square piece of Whisper White cardstock and stick it to the inside of your card. You could also stamp a rose inside your card to decorate it a little.
I hope you enjoyed this project. Click the links below to shop the products used to make it.
