Good Morning Crafters! I’m really excited to share with you today my project using the A Whole Lot of Lovely DSP pack. If you saw my post from a couple of weeks ago you’ll know how much I LOVE this black-based floral sheet of paper. Today I’ve teamed it with blacks and golds to create this lovely Autumnal Birthday Card – it’s pretty simple too!
To create the card blank, score and fold an A5 piece of Basic Black cardstock in half.
Cut a piece of Gold Foil Sheet to 1/4″ smaller each way than your card front, and then a piece of your floral DSP to 1/4″ smaller than this. I have chosen the DSP with the large flowers, but this layout would work with a lot of the different papers.
Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Butterfly Basics stamp set onto Basic Black cardstock in Versamark ink. Pour some gold embossing powder over your sentiment, tipping the excess back into the pot. Use your heat gun to melt the embossing powder creating your lovely gold sentiment.
Cut around your sentiment using one of your Layering Oval dies, then use the Scalloped Layering die that’s one size larger to cut a piece of Gold Foil Sheet and layer this behind your sentiment.
Cut a strip of Basic Black cardstock the same length as your sheet of DSP and about 3/8″ wide. Next, trim a strip of Gold Foil Sheet to the same length and 5/8″ wide and layer your black strip on top of it. Stick the end of some gold sequin trim to the back of your strip. Run the trim along the front of the strip and attach it at the back of the other end. Attach this strip to the centre of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and add your sentiment, also using Stampin’ Dimensionals, to finish.
I hope you enjoyed this project. Click the links below to shop the products used to make it.
