Good Morning Crafters!! It’s the weekend!! I hope you have some lovely plans. Today I’m sharing a mini notecard. It’s adorable, and if you wanted to make a few of these and give them as a gift, you could put them together with some 3″ envelopes into one of our mini pizza boxes – they’ll fit perfectly and you could decorate the pizza box to match the notecards inside!!
I used a few different elements on today’s card – the layered leaves embossing folder (as it’s one of my favourites!), the Love What You Do stamp set for the sentiment, and the flower from the Free as a Bird stamp set. However, you could really use any flower, sentiment and embossing folder to create a similar look!!
Tutorial – Handmade Mini Thank You Notecard with Layered Leaves
To create your card blank, score and fold a 3″ x 6″ piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock in half, then cut a 2 3/4″ square piece of Old Olive cardstock to create the layer.
Run your Old Olive Layer through your die-cutting Machine in your embossing folder and add this to your card front. If you’re using a 3D embossing folder like the Layered Leaves one that I used, it usually works best if you spritz the cardstock with a little water first – you get better definition.
Next, stamp both your flower and your sentiment onto scraps of Whisper White cardstock using Rich Razzleberry ink. Use a blender pen to drag some of the ink from the stamped image on your flower and use this to colour the flower. This gives a much more delicate shade than if you use other colouring mediums.
Use sharp scissors to cut out both your sentiment and your flower, leaving a white border around them. Add them to your card using Stampin’ Dimensionals and finish off your flower with a small Navy Enamel Dot.
