Share What You Love Handmade Thank You Card created by UK Independent Stampin' Up Demonstrator Sarah Phelan for Sarah's Stampin' Retreat using the Share What You Love suite from Stampin' Up

Good Morning Crafters!! How are you? I’m sad that we’ve not seen too much of summer yet here in the UK, but I’m taking full advantage of being inside to do lots of crafting!! Today’s card is for those of us who love fussy cutting. I know that it’s a bit of a love/hate technique, but for me it’s a definite LOVE!! One of my favourite things to do of an evening after my little one has gone to bed is to sit in front of the TV and fussy cut – I find it very therapeutic.

If you’re also a lover (or you’ve not tried it and fancy a go) this may be the card for you!! It uses the GORGEOUS Share What You Love speciality DSP (patterned paper). A lot of the sheets have a bit of a pearlised effect which really adds to the beauty of the paper. This one’s a bit more expensive than our usual paper packs, but it has the gorgeous special effects, it’s a heavier weight than most of our packs, and it has twice as many sheets!! You get 24 sheets – 4 each of 6 double sided designs.

Tutorial – Share What You Love Handmade Card

To create your card base, score and fold an A5 piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock in half. Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 1/4″ smaller than your card front and stick this inside so you have a space to write your message to the recipient.

You will need two pieced of the same patterned paper for the card front. Cut the same section from each – they also need to be 1/4″ smaller than your card front. I used the bottom right hand corner of the paper that I used. Stick one of these pieces to your card front and put one to the side until after you’ve created your sentiment block.

To create your sentiment block, cut a piece of Mint Macaroon cardstock to the same width as your DSP and 1 inch high. Stamp the “Thank You” sentiment from the Share What You Love stamp set in the centre in Rich Razzleberry ink. Cut a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock 1/4″ bigger than your Mint Macaroon one and stick your sentiment to it.

Using the piece of patterned paper that you set aside, decide where you would want your sentiment to go, then cut a piece out of your patterned paper the same height as your sentiment. This will mean that when you cut out the flowers they will sit nicely either side of your sentiment. I stuck the spare strip of paper that I cut out along the bottom of the inside of my card as decoration.

Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to stick your sentiment to your card front. Tip: place the top and bottom pieces of your extra sheet of patterned paper onto your card as a guide to show you where your sentiment strip should go.

Then, cut all of the flowers out of your top and bottom strips of patterned paper and use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach them to your card front. I attached mine as I went so that I didn’t have to work out where they went at the end!!
