Good Morning Crafters!! I hope you’re having a lovely bank holiday weekend!! Have you seen the lovely Graceful Glass Designer Vellum that’s in the annual catalogue? It will be retiring at the end of May (or sooner if stocks don’t last!) so if you want yours then make sure you grab it soon!! It includes some beautiful designs that are lovely to colour with the blends (tip: don’t use water based pens to colour this, they will just smudge, but any alcohol markers such as the Stampin’ Blends will work beautifully!). Today’s card uses just 1/4 of a piece of one of the sheets of vellum!
Tutorial – Graceful Glass Handmade Birthday Card
To create your card blank, score and fold half an A4 piece of Basic Black cardstock in half. Then, to add the texture to the front, just put the front half of your card blank into the Sparkle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and put out through your Bigshot.
To create the focal point, cut a piece of vellum to match the one in the card image, then colour with Stampin’ Blends. I used more subtle colours but you could make a much brighter version if you prefer. Colour on the back of the vellum.
Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock the same size as your vellum and mount the vellum on top of it. Then, cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock 1/4″ bigger than your vellum, and a piece of Gold Foil Sheet 1/4″ bigger than that and layer the 3 pieces up to create your topper.
To create your sentiment strip, stamp the “Happy Birthday” from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set onto Whisper White cardstock and cut it out using the Classic Label Punch. Layer this onto a strip of Gold Foil Sheet the same width as your card to complete the front of your card.
To create an insert for your card, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 1/4″ smaller than your card front and stamp a sentiment in the centre. Glue this into the inside of your card.
