Good Morning Crafters! Today’s card is a dream catcher made using the feathers from the Just Add Colour DSP. I love this DSP and have shared several cards using it but this is the first one I’ve made with the feathers. Those of you who follow my blog will also know that I’ve used two of my favourite things on this card; the Stitched Shape Framelit Dies, and the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Special Celebrations stamp set. If you don’t have these I would highly recommend them – they are absolute staples in my crafty stash and I use them over and over again!
Tutorial – Just Add Colour Dream Catcher Card
To create your card blank, cut a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock measuring 10″ x 7″ and score and fold it in half.
Use your largest Stitched Circle die to cut a circle out of Gold Foil Sheet. Then, use a Layering Circle die to cut the inside out of the Gold circle and use the same die to cut a circle out of your card front towards the top of the card. Finally, cut a circle from Vellum with the layering circle die that’s the same size as the stitched circle you used to cut out the gold foil sheet.
Use Versamark ink to stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Special Celebrations stamp set in the centre of your velum circle. Pour Gold Embossing Powder over the Versamark ink and heat it with your heat tool to melt.
Stick your versamark circle over the aperture that you’ve made in your card.
Colour three of the feathers from your Just Add Colour DSP. I used Pool Party, Pink Pirouette and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write markers to do this. Cut them out and run your Black Stampin’ Write Marker around the edges to give a professional finish and lift them off the card. Use the fine tip glue pen to pick out details on your feathers and cover in gold glitter.
Add the feathers around the bottom of the vellum circle on your card, only attaching them at the top so that the bottom of the feathers can lift up off the card. Glue the gold frame over the velum circle.
To finish, glue a small strip of Pool Party cardstock along the bottom of your card and stick some Pink Pirouette and Pool Party Enamel Shapes around the top of your dream catcher.
